The YWCA of Metropolitan Dallas is a local association of the YWCA USA. We are a grassroots organization and raise all of our money through our own fund-raising efforts.
     




 
 
 
Age Groups & Classes
The YWCA cares for children 6 weeks through 12 years old. Classes are broken down into four primary groups: Infants, Toddlers, Preschoolers and School-Age. Detailed information on each class is available in the YWCA's child care brochure.

The YWCA Child Care and Development program/After School Club offer:

  • Explorative and fun approaches to learning through discovery and social experiences.

  • HighReach Learning curriculum that uses an age-appropriate approach to language, literacy, school readiness and social skills.

  • Indoor and outdoor play.

  • Specially trained staff who are fluent in childhood development and certified in CPR and basic first aid.

  • Dedicated management who are well-versed in addressing parents’ concerns.

  • Low teacher-to-child ratios to allow for individual interaction.

  • Computer labs for research, homework and learning.

  • Homework assistance and support with studying.

  • Afternoon bus pickup from nearby schools.

  • Convenient locations on DART routes.

Enrollment Information
Up-to-date immunization records are required for enrollment. A fee of $50 per child (up to $150 per family) is due upon enrollment. Semi-annual supply fees are due in September and January.

Scholarship Information
The YWCA offers need-based scholarships for qualifying families. Scholarships range from 20 to 50 percent of tuition. To apply for a child care scholarship, families must complete an application form and attach proof of income. There is an application fee of $25 per family. It is nonrefundable, but will be applied toward the enrollment fee.

All YWCA child care facilities are recognized as four-star providers by the Texas Rising Star program. Some programs are also accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

Inclement Weather Policy
The YWCA may be forced to close early, not open or delay opening if severe weather jeopardizes the safety of employees or children. Information on the status of location openings, delays or closures will be maintained on an automated message at 214-826-9922.

Holidays
YWCA Child Care and Development programs/After School Clubs are open year-round, closing only on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
