Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) is a program for women who
are having their first baby. If you enroll, a highly educated
nurse will visit you in your home throughout your pregnancy and
until your baby is 2 years old.
The NFP program
encourages fathers, family members and even friends to be
involved in the visits and learn how they can best support you.
The mother is the
primary focus of each NFP nurse because she holds the
responsibility of being the child's caregiver. Your nurse will
tailor services to your individualized needs.
Program Services
Through the Nurse-Family Partnership, your nurse will help
you:
- Have a healthy
pregnancy and a healthy baby.
- Become a
better parent.
- Build a strong
network of support for you and your baby.
- Make your home
a safe place for your baby to live and play.
- Get referrals
for healthcare, child care, job training and other support
services available in your community.
- Continue your
education and develop job skills.
- Set goals for
your family's future and find ways to help you reach them.
Enrollment
Invest time now to secure a better future for your child.
Women who are pregnant with their first child and meet income
requirements can enroll in the program. You can join as early in
your pregnancy as you like, but you must enroll by the 25th week
of pregnancy.
