The YWCA Young Parent program focuses on helping you to
build on your strengths through personalized services designed
just for you. The program empowers young mothers to develop as
strong, self-assured parents through improved parenting
skills, enhanced life skills, and focused educational and career
goals.The
YWCA also places a strong focus on helping you complete high
school and pursue further education and training. By continuing
your own education, you will
increase your child’s future success in school.
Registration
Please call 214-584-2329 to verify your eligibility for
services and be matched with a case manager. All services
are offered free of charge.

Your case manager will work with you to help you achieve the
following:

Having a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby.

Becoming a better parent.

Building a strong network of support for yourself and your
baby.

Making your home a safe place for your baby to live and
play.

Accessing healthcare, child care, job training and other
support services available in your community.

Setting goals for your family’s future.
Our
program’s core components include:

Identifying areas of family strengths and growth
opportunities.

Developing a Family Support Plan to achieve your goals.

Parenting and life skills education on 10 critical topics
for parents.

Referrals to additional supports are based on your needs.

In-home visits from your case manager.

Distribution of free car seats to parents who attend a car
seat class.
Safe Riders Car Seat Distribution Program
You can receive a free car seat for your child from the YWCA
Young Parent Program and the Safe Riders Child Safety Seat
Distribution and Education Program.
Safe
Rider classes are offered in English on the second and fourth
Wednesdays of each month and in Spanish on the third Wednesday
of each month. Classes are held 4:30-5:30 p.m. at the YWCA
Widner Child Care Center, 1811 S. Hampton, Dallas, TX 75208.
