Who can volunteer for YW?

YW volunteer opportunities are available for individuals, groups, organizations, and companies. YW volunteering is open to women and men 18 years of age and older; all YW volunteers must undergo criminal background and reference checks and Volunteer Orientation prior to placement.

What will I do as a YW volunteer?

YW will match your skills and interests to opportunities that are meaningful and energizing for you. YW needs volunteers in a variety of areas who can donate their time and expertise to empower women. Bilingual volunteers are particularly needed.

What do you like to do?

Facilitate a YW Financial Education Workshop

Facilitate the YW Financial Education Workshop Series, Continuing Education or Tax Credit Education workshops. YW workshops are hosted throughout Dallas County on weekdays, weeknights and Saturday mornings; volunteers may choose a location and time that works with their personal schedule.

Work One-On-One with the YW Self-Sufficiency Calculator

Guide YW Self-Sufficiency clients through the screening process by explaining the benefits, inputting their household information and expenses, discussing results, and developing a plan. Opportunities are available weekdays, evenings and Saturdays.

Plan Events for the YW Nurse-Family Partnership

Help with planning and implementing scrapbook parties for YW Nurse-Family Partnership mothers; coordinate a Diaper Drive, Formula Fill-Up, Baby Bundle, or Maternity Wear Round-Up benefiting YW Nurse-Family Partnership families; or help coordinate the YW Nurse-Family Partnership spring celebration.

Use Your Bilingual Skills for YW Women’s Health

Conduct phone screenings with YW Women’s Health applicants. This opportunity is conducted in the YW office in Dallas and offers flexible hours, anytime Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Be A Helpful Hand

Help with general office duties in the YW office in Dallas; offers flexible hours, anytime Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
