Barbara Werley

Barbara Werley, MS, Pappas Bros. Steakhouses's new wine director. Werley was the 4th of only 7 master sommeliers in Texas and she is also one of only 17 female master sommeliers in North America. A mere 190 master sommelier diplomas have been given, worldwide, since the inception of the Court of Master Sommelier.

The Master Sommelier diploma distinguishes a service professional worthy of the title, and is known throughout the hospitality business worldwide. It guarantees that the sommelier is among the most qualified in the industry, with outstanding tasting and evaluation skills, wine knowledge and outstanding abilities in service and beverage department management.

As wine director for Pappas Bros. Steakhouse, Werley is responsible for more than 33,000 bottles of wine (including one $70,000 3.0L bottle of Romanée-Conti Grand Cru, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti!) from the restaurant's extraordinary wine collection. She also is responsible for providing continuous wine education and programs for both the wait staff and patrons. In her work, Werley passes along to guests the nuances of quality that make for a stunning dining experience. In her personal life, this master sommelier prefers her steak medium rare and her wine to be of the finest.

Sharon Hage

Sharon Hage is a chef and restaurant consultant based in Dallas, Texas.

She owned and operated the highly acclaimed York Street Restaurant in East Dallas for nearly a decade and has received many accolades for her farm to fork focused cuisine.

A Detroit native and a Culinary Institute of America graduate, Chef Hage honed her skills working her way up in kitchens in New York City before settling in Dallas.

An active member of Les Dames d’Escoffier since 1994, Chef Hage is also passionate about supporting local farmers and producers, and bringing the farm to the classroom through her involvement with the Days of Taste Program.
